Has Everyone Taken Leave of their Minds?

Current listing on eBay for four (4) twenty five (25) dollar ($) gift certificates. Bidding is now at $105.38. WTF? I really want to understand that there is some great logic behind this. I just can't get there. If you can figure it out, please let me know. If this sale closes and the items are paid for, I *clearly* am in the wrong business...

Amazon doesn't take PayPal. eBay does. People with money in their PayPal account from other eBay sales can only buy stuff on Amazon if they exchange this PayPal money for Amazon GCs. A 5% surcharge is apparently a fair trade-off.

(PayPal has released a toolbar that creates a virtual debit card that draws on a user's account balance, but I guess old habits die hard.)

Anyone with a credit on their Paypal account (a) is getting interest on the balance and (b) can ask Paypal to cut them a check.

Money laundering perhaps (although we're not talking big time crime here!)

Amazon doesn't take checks anymore, either, effective today: http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=84692

There are few ways left to shop at Amazon without a credit card or debit card: buy a gift card on eBay, use a Coinstar machine that takes bills as well as coins, or buy a gift card in a retail store.
